Bean Info
Elto Coffee is a specialty coffee project founded by Eliyas Dukamo and Atiklit “Mimi” Dejene, based in Ethiopia's Sidama region. Their work focuses on producing traceable, carefully separated microlots that showcase the potential of Ethiopian coffee through precise processing and close collaboration with smallholder farmers. Eliyas brings experience from the Dukamo coffee-growing family, while Atiklit developed her expertise in processing and quality control at Gesha Village. Together, they established Elto to explore new possibilities in Ethiopian specialty coffee.
Elora Station and its high-altitude terroir
The Elora Washing Station is located in the Arbegona area of Sidama, with coffee sourced from surrounding smallholder communities, including Arbegona and Bona. At approximately 2,400 metres above sea level, the coffee grows in an exceptionally high-altitude environment. Cooler temperatures can slow cherry maturation, giving the coffee more time to develop its sweetness and aromatic complexity.
Rather than blending everything into a single regional lot, Elto separates coffees by variety, harvest and processing method. This approach allows distinctive lots to retain their individual identities and gives the producers greater control over quality and traceability
74158 is an Ethiopian selected variety known for its distinctive cup character.
In honey processing, the coffee cherry skin is removed while some of the sticky mucilage remains attached to the parchment during drying. Unlike a fully washed coffee, the beans retain contact with this mucilage, which can contribute to sweetness and a rounder texture.
What makes this coffee stand out is the combination of 74158 grown at 2,400 metres, Elto's precise small-lot approach and your unusually intense floral-citrus expression. The lemon essential oil and bergamot impressions are especially distinctive: rather than simply tasting citrusy, the cup evokes the fragrant oils of citrus peel, layered with honey sweetness and a highly perfumed floral character.
