Roaster Note
This Konga Amederaro lot welcomes you with an elegant tapestry of wild berries and blood orange, each sip layered with green grape accents and a soft whisper of black tea. The washed process gives clarity, letting fruit and tea notes shine without muddiness. The finish is long and refined, leaving a gentle tea-like aftertaste that lingers as a calming echo. On the palate, brightness, floral lift, and restrained sweetness play in harmony — a coffee that feels both vivid and poised, inviting contemplation in each cup.

Bean Info

Konga Amederaro is a washing station in the Konga village (Amederaro kebele) of Yirgacheffe, in the Gedeo Zone, which works with many local smallholder farmers to process their coffee cherries.

The region is known for its high-altitude, cool climate and well-drained soils, providing ideal conditions for specialty coffee development.

In this lot, fully washed processing is applied: cherries are delivered to the station, sorted, depulped, fermented under controlled conditions, washed, and then dried (often on raised beds) to preserve clarity and clean fruit character.

The Konga station has earned recognition for its strict quality controls, having placed in competitions and is regarded as one of the consistent high-quality producers in Yirgacheffe.

Farmers in the area frequently maintain “garden coffee” plots — small plots around their homes — growing heirloom varieties. Shade trees, organic composting, and minimal chemical inputs are often part of the local practices (many producers are “passive organic” due to low access to chemical farming aids).

The washed processing allows the floral and tea-like qualities typical of Yirgacheffe coffees to stand in relief, while still revealing the fruit brightness and complexity of the local varietals under careful handling.
