Roaster Note
This Geisha greets you with an airy bouquet of jasmine and citrus blossom, unfolding with refined elegance. Beneath the florals, a subtle umami note adds depth and intrigue, giving the cup a savory counterpoint to its delicate aromatics. The body is silky and tea-like, evoking the sensation of sipping fine high-mountain tea. The washed process allows remarkable clarity, balancing gentle honey sweetness with a clean, lingering finish. Each sip feels graceful and meditative — a coffee to slow down with, where refinement and purity take center stage.
Bean info
Finca Los Santos is a family-run farm in the Amazonas region of northern Peru, managed today by third-generation farmer José Santos Requejo. Established in 1941, the farm sits between 1,700–1,900 meters above sea level, where cool mountain air, frequent cloud cover, and rich volcanic soil provide ideal conditions for cultivating Geisha. Around 10% of the farm is dedicated to Geisha, with cherries carefully hand-picked, washed, and dried on raised beds under solar driers for even consistency.
Los Santos participates in Peru’s agrarian research initiatives (PNIA) to improve coffee quality and sustainability, using organic pest management and intercropping with bananas, yuca, and corn to support biodiversity. Their dedication has been recognized internationally — including a Cup of Excellence Top 10 placement in 2023. This washed Geisha reflects both terroir and farmer care: clean, floral, and refined.
